The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board is pleased to announce the availability of a recently completed report on the status of housing for individuals with severe mental health disabilities residing in Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties.  

 

The report is titled “Housing Options for Mental Health Consumers in Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties, Ohio” and is available in an electronic format by 

clicking on the NAMI logo above or here (You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader). A limited number of hard copies are also available by contacting the ADAMHS Board.  The project was commissioned by the ADAMHS Board of Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties in order to identify strengths and gaps in the array of housing and supportive housing services.  The ADAMHS Board was also interested in developing specific strategies to improve housing outcomes for consumers in the district. 

 

This project was made possible with financial and technical support by the National Alliance on Mental Illness-Ohio Chapter and the Ohio Department of Mental Health. 
Mr. Roy Lowenstein, a housing consultant made available to the ADAMHS Board through the Ohio Mental Health Housing Leadership Institute (NAMI-Ohio), authored the document.  Critical elements of the report include the following:

 

 The ADAMHS Board is currently developing a management process to address the numerous topics and issues outlined in the report. 

 

On behalf of the ADAMHS Board, we would like to thank the individuals and organizations that participated in this project.  We look forward to working with our constituents on the specific recommendations outlined in the report in order to improve and expand housing options for individuals living with severe mental illnesses within Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties.
