The ADAMHS Board kicked off its 2010 replacement levy campaign during a Tuscarawas County Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday,
June 24, 2010 at the Courthouse Annex. Mr. Bob Fogler was formally introduced as Chairman of the campaign and introduced by
Gay Cox, Chair of the ADAMHS Board. Bob provided a concise overview on the importance of the levy to ensure the continued availability
of critical mental health and addiction recovery services for children and adults residing in
Several individuals were on hand to comment on the disabling nature of their mental illnesses and the significant impact which local treatment agencies and services play in their ongoing recovery.
A number of mental health and addiction recovery agency administrators also participated in the presentation and stressed the importance of levy funding on their ability to provide services. They included Community Mental Healthcare, Personal and Family Counseling Services, Advocacy Choices and Empowerment, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness- Tuscarawas Chapter
There was also information shared on the impact of recent budget cuts on service availability including crisis and other critical outpatient services including psychiatrists.
